TDP lamps are frequently used as therapy by individuals and healthcare providers for conditions not approved by the FDA. Please understand that it is required of us that we issue cautions. Upon consulting with your doctor, they may indicate that it is safe for you to use the TDP lamp, even if your condition has a listed caution. Every person is unique, and TDP mineral lamp therapy has been used outside of the United States for over 100 conditions, not all of them listed on this site. The Food and Drug Administration does not approve any use of far infrared heating devices for anything other than the temporary relief of minor pain, so please consult with your healthcare provider for guidance if you have questions about the appropriate uses of the TDP mineral lamps. If your physician is not familiar with TDP lamps, we recommend seeking someone who is, and please share your results with your current physician.

- To avoid unintentional burns, do not use over areas of the skin lacking sensitivity (neuropathy) or with poor circulation (such as with diabetes).
- Normal treatment distance of the head from skin surface is 12-16 inches.
- Surface temperature of the skin should be less than 130 degrees Fahrenheit (45 degrees Celcius) or a comfortable temperature for the user, at all times. Adjust the distance between skin surface and lamp head to control temperature. Improper use may cause burns, so use with caution (mineral plate can be over 870F when lamp is on).
- Length of self-use for a single session is typically 15-30 minutes (not longer than 45 min.), 1 or 2 times a day, for 7-10 days. More weeks of therapy are acceptable under direction of a doctor.

- The mineral plate will gradually lose effectiveness after 1000 hours of use. After 1500 hours of use, the mineral plate should be replaced. You may order replacements from your original supplier. You will know it is time to replace it when it turns an ash-gray color.
